The Bladen County Sheriff’s department was busy Friday….closing down a couple of internet café establishments in Dublin and a smaller operation west of Tar Heel. DA Jon David and Sheriff Jim McVicker then held a news conference related to the “bust.”

The Town of Elizabethtown and Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday…regular monthly meetings. Both bodies will be discussing proposed budgets for the coming fiscal year.

Jones Lake State Park officials are offering an installment of ‘Planet Earth’ beginning at 7:30 this evening. It is free to the public. Bring chairs, popcorn, drinks and the entire family. Have questions? Call Ranger John Privette at 910-588-4550.
