Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingIt will be another hot day today and more to come….We need rain and cooler temps…

Congratulations to the local folks recognized at the Tuesday evening Chamber of Commerce meeting…Ricky Leinwand, Alan I. Maynard, Walter Bullard and Harry Womble…BladenOnline owner Charlotte Smith is the new President of the Chamber.  Trey Duncan completed an extended period of time as President.  He served his regular term and agreed to another year….He was a good President…Again, congratulations to all…(see our article) Dawn Maynard is the Chamber Executive….
Wish everyone could have spent some time with over 50 youth and about 20 adult volunteers participating in Bladen Mission 2015.  Some of Bladen’s finest have ‘braved’ the heat, worked hard, on community projects and worshiped in the evening time.  It began Sunday p.m. and ends tonight.  Last night I was fortunate to be able to attend a service I will not soon forget.  Youngsters shared experiences, participated in a music program and listened as Rev. Andy Smith of Clarkton Presbyterian Church shared scripture and thoughts that appeared to be well received by an attentive group…some of Bladen’s Best…It is the second year of the event.  It began with a few churches and is growing.  It was open to all youth in the county….with registration forms available in numerous locations including BladenOnline.   This year’s event had more attendees than last year and hopefully it will continue…bigger and better..  The organizers and participants are to be commended….We will have an article soon…
We love to report good news……
US Open Golf tournament begins today in the great northwest on the Chamber Bay Golf Course.
How can anyone enter a ‘house of worship’, open fire and kill worshipers?  Happened last night in Charleston, SC.  Just when I think I have seen and heard it all….Hope the accused is soon captured…
