Thoughts While ShavingThe ballot is beginning to take shape in six of our seven municipalities.  Bladenboro and Tar Heel represent the extremes.  The Bladenboro ballot may be the longest and as of Wednesday closing time, no one has filed for Mayor or Town Commissioner in Tar Heel.  The filing season is coming to a close….It ends at 12 noon Friday (tomorrow).
A lack of candidates in Tar Heel is not new….remember a few years ago when no one filed…
BladenOnline will provide coverage to the end….and I remind all….Don’t complain if your are not willing to put your name on the ballot…and that applies to every elected office in the county…..Just happens to be limited to Municipalities this year.

I see Gov. McCrory has announced the creation of a Task Force to hopefully improve care for Mental Health and Substance Abuse.  Mental Health has been ‘cussed’ and discussed for years….It is a difficult issue for those dealing with the problem, their caretakers and those seeking a better way to care for it….Just hope this group has success.

Hope you will contribute to the fund-raiser to assist the West Bladen Dixie Pre-Majors team in making the trip to Alabama to the World Series.  Third trip in three years for the team…Jenel Cain is heading up the fund-raising effort.  Her number is 910-876-0541 or mail a contribution to:

Remember Nash automobiles, Railroad Mill snuff, Holsum bread, TruAde soft drinks?  Just four of many products that we no longer see or hear anything about…Maybe I just do not hear about them…
