Spread the love
The past few days have been ‘newsy’ and there is more….
Our court system is ‘newsy’….Good and bad…Good that the folks who have been arrested are getting their day in court…bad, because the wheels of justice move slow and the nature of many cases is slow and deliberate.  Some bad “stuff” happens in Bladen and all around us…A day in court is educational…..My guess is few if any area news outlets have folks who have the time to just sit and listen….
A great deal of the the news this week has been about folks who will be in court for selling illegal drugs and alcohol….My thoughts…Thanks to the officers on the front lines and to those who approve of the investigation….Hope justice continues through the court system.  If you do the crime, I hope you pull some time…
BIG news today for the Dixie Majors team from West Bladen…Coach Kim Cain and his team and coaches are in Guntersville, Ala.  for a game with Ozark, Alabama.  Gametime is 11 a.m. It’s the World Series…North Carolina vs. Alabama in the game of interest in this area.  The double elimination tournament will continue for several days…AND, We will cover pitch by pitch using Scorecast….We have the links for your to join in, settle back and cheer the West Bladen team on to victory.
Kim Cain was one of my favorite little league players many, many years ago.  Road his bike from near White’s Crossing on NC 242 to practice and ballgames and earned his playing time.  He is taking his team to the third World Series in three years….
I check the weather in Guntersville, Ala, site of the series.  Patchy fog and 93 degrees today, 70 tonight, sunny and 95 Sunday, 72 Sundaynight and mostly sunny on Monday and 96 degrees….
Bladen County low overnight was in the mid 60s…feels so good.  High today in upper 80s.
Check our Events section for those we are aware of.
Thanks for your nice comments about BladenOnline.  We love what we do.  Enjoyed the company of a group of senior citizens for lunch this past week.  One had just returned from a visit to Germany.  Told me he stayed in touch with happenings back home in Bladen thanks to BladenOnline.  Most of our readers are in Bladen, but we love to travel…
Travel thoughts;
The faster the plane, the narrower the seats.
The strength of the turbulence is directly proportional to the temperature of your coffee.
What travels around the world but stays in one corner?  A stamp.
