One more reminder of the events today in Bladenboro related to a fund-raiser for Ayven Lennon, the youngster suffering from cancer. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day….A live and silent auction are planned and delicious food will be served from 4 to 7 p.m….Take your pic…BBQ or Chicken plates….The Benefits Committee is attempting to assist Ayven and his family…and you can help….Donations are welcomed….

Wish I could snap my finger and all the Bladen County college students who made the Dean’s List would just pop-up. We continue to search for those who do well….Among the latest is Lee McLane Greene, Jr. of Elizabethtown who recently graduated from The Citadel. Congratulations…We wish you well….

Sometimes it takes a funeral to bring us all together….problem is, as we grow older funerals of love ones and friends tend to come more often…
I wish we could snap our finger and make dreaded illnesses go away…Cancer, Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s, just to mention a few…
Guess we get “hung up” on the ills of this world and forget our many blessings, and they are to many to count…Lord forgive us…again…..
If all goes as planned, we will be able to cross the Cape Fear River on a new bridge in the Tar Heel area soon….Hopefully by the middle of next week….
Some days I think I am addicted to a computer…some days I want to throw it in the Cape Fear River…
