Thoughts While Shaving- 2/20/18

Thoughts While ShavingEast Bladen girls basketball team begins their quest for state championship this evening.  The 1st round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs begin for the Lady Eagles at 6PM when they host the Hertford County girls.  Admission is $6.

Watch less TV now than I have in a long time, but more Internet than I should.  Saw some interesting quotes on Facebook recently, chances are you did as well.

On gun control, one reader wrote, “We live in a society where people are eating laundry soap.  I don’t think guns are their problem.”

Another, “We must reject the idea every time a laws broken, society is guilty rather than the law breaker.  It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his action.”  Ronald Reagan

We all have thoughts and ideas about how to make this world a better place to live, and they range from the far right to the far left, and apparently that is to far for most to meet near the middle.

Maybe we are dealing with a mathematical issue…to much division in our country.

Remember Nikita Khrushchev’s comments when he was the Russian leader.

“First we will take Eastern Europe, then the masses of Asia, then we will encircle the United States which will be the last bastion of capitalism.  We will not have to attack.  It will fall like an overnight fruit into our hands.”

Another of his quotes,
“We will bury you from within without firing a shot”

Some question if these were really his quotes, but they have been attributed to the former Russian leader for many years.

I am not a prognosticator, just repeating what has been said by others.

When someone sings his own praises, he always gets the tune to high.  Mary H. Waldrip

Blessed are the young for they shall inherit the national debt.  Herbert Hoover
