Spread the love

The church family I worship with is having a ‘Camp’ this weekend at White Lake and I attended briefly last night…So many memories…..of youngsters just having a wonderful time, bruises and splinters and ‘short sheets’ and shaving crème in the bed of some unexpecting leaders….

Of sharing bible stories and experiences, washing pots and pans….hot days and no TVs or cell phones….Just a time to make memories that have lingered for ..many, many years…..I remembered individuals that were leaders….cooks, teachers, leaders, the camp nurse, and the doctor who came in the evening and gave his time….

But most of all were memories of being with friends and neighbors and learning about God and how to deal with others…learning about ourselves and making more friends….

Those days are just memories for me now…..but as I saw youngsters smiling, singing, clapping…..excited…..I could not help but think and hope they would one day look back at Church Camp and realize it is one of those highlights that last a lifetime…..

We all talk about the weather…..nothing bad should be said about the past few days….What a most wonderful time of the year….

A reminder, for students attending public school, it’s back to school time….for year round and other schools, many are already back….
