Thoughts While Shaving

Many times news comes all times of the day and night….like a plane crash in Bladenboro at 5 p.m. on a Saturday…Fortunately, Richard Bryan of Bladenboro first reported a first-hand account on social media complete with pictures….Richard and I are Facebook friends….I am hesitant to contact some folks around dinner time on a Saturday evening to confirm or report…but I was directed to Bradley Kinlaw, Bladen County EMS Director who confirmed, then I sent a message to Richard asking for permission to use his pics…and he said yes…

My point being, news comes in many forms, from any number of folks and at all times of the day and night and it takes many folks to get the word out and slow down the rumors..

I appreciate Richard and Bradley sharing…Fortunately, no one lost their life, a couple of folks from Georgia were transported to Bladen County hospital, treated and reportedly released…and probably looking for a ride to Georgia…..cause they cannot fly the aircraft they had apparently planned on. It was a tangled mess near a ditch off the runway in Bladenboro….

I love this business…not the bad stories..but how Bladen County folks respond….not perfect…subject to criticism….but if not them who, and if not at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, when?

Law enforcement, the EMS Director, EMS services including the Rescue Squads and Fireman and the folks at BCH….fortunately the coroner had nothing to investigate this time, but, when there is a death, his meal is interrupted…Takes many in the county to cover/provide the services anytime of the day or night…..

And, the part-timers and full-timers at BladenOnline are ready, willing and able to cover…with some help from the citizens….Bladen County folks providing coverage of Bladen County events on a 24-7 basis…

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it….Oh yes, The Best Is Yet To Come..
