Thoughts While Shaving

I remember as if yesterday, Ken Pervine and I launched the online newspaper after several weeks of preparation…Very few advertisers, a little news, a little sports, some support but a strong desire to make it happen.  It has surpassed my expectations….Some were no doubt taking bets on how long we would survive….With hard work, a little imagination, a strong desire to succeed…The baby is growing up and is very healthy…Thanks to all who have contributed….and I promise…The Best Is Yet To Come.

It is difficult to imagine we are one month into the year 2015…

We are seeing a huge change in the banking management business in Bladen County….First, Hayes Petteway and Johnny Johnson retired and the most recent is Leon Martin…all long time bankers in the area…and CresCom and First South are the latest banks to make their Bladen appearance….Hope all do well.

Taking bets on the Super Bowl…..Bet on either….no payout, I pocket it all…not really….On one hand, I like the Patriots, with Tom Brady, on the other hand I like the Seahawks with Russell Wilson….Both teams are 14-4.  I will place my free bet shortly before game-time.

For sports fans, a great time of the year…college basketball, NFL, golf, hockey, NASCAR in a few weeks, high school basketball…bet I missed something….Oh yes, the Super Bowl.
