Thoughts While ShavingGreat morning to go for a walk….temps in the low 60’s…beginning to feel like autumn….Labor Day is next weekend…Summer’s last “fling.”…but no walk for this old ‘codger’ today….do that 5 days a week, Monday through Friday…

Saw some stats on the “Ashley Madison” website….the website that promotes married folks “cheating” on their spouses…Only 3 zip codes in America were not listed, according to the hackers…

99691…Nikdai, Alaska….population 94..60 below zero, (surely not all the time),
99648…Perryville, Alaska.. population 113, only about 10 residents have Internet,
87828…Polvadera, New Mexico…population 269, probably can’t get reception..

The site was hacked by a group attempting to force it to close down…Now the CEO has stepped down but the site continues…

The site has over 30 million subscribers…California, Texas, New York, Florida, and New Jersey had the most paying members in that order. North Carolina was number 13 on the list.

I must admit, I never heard of site until the “Impact Team” began releasing email addresses…Many on that list will likely declare someone else used their name…not sure how they explain their credit card number…

Inquisitive individuals want to know…

It was a year ago, August 29, that Lennon Lacy, a West Bladen student was found hanging on a swing set in Bladenboro. The FBI has been investigating since December, 2014. For the sake of all concerned, I hope the results come soon.

We all know about 9/11, the attempt by terrorist to cause pain in America by crashing planes, killing people in several locations…That was many years ago and a day we shall never forget…

I have another reason to remember the date…9/11/14…last year. My walking ‘buddy’ for nearly 30 years was critically injured in a crash with an 18-wheeler near Bladen Community College. Janice Johnson has been in a hospital or extended care since that day…Visited her yesterday…She still has a great attitude and hopes one day to return to her home in Happy Valley. Still some problems with movement on the left side of her body…but nothing wrong with her mind or attitude…She is so positive….Remember her in your prayers…I believe one day she will return home…maybe not totally healed, but be at her home…

Both Bladen County high school football teams chalked up their second win of the season without a loss…See our Sports section for details…
