Brown Leadership Academy will hold a short 9-11 Remembrance ceremony at 8:30 a.m. today on the steps of the academy, on Martin Luther King Drive in Elizabethtown.
Tomorrow, (Saturday) Bladen Central High School Alumni Association will hold their 33rd Annual Awards Banquet at the Paul R. Brown Building. Dr. Teresa McKoy Watts will be the speaker. Dr. Watts is a 1985 East Bladen High School graduate, and is in private practice in Charlotte. The banquet begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $20….Contact Dorothy McKoy for details. Tonight, St. Pauls football team will be at West Bladen for a 7:30 p.m. football game…East Bladen has an open date….

And, it was a year ago today that my walking buddy of 27 years was involved in a 2 vehicle accident near Bladen Community College. Janice Johnson was critically injured…She is still bed-ridden, a patient in the extended care unit at the hospital in Burgaw. Need an uplifting experience….visit Janice…I visit from time to time and come away amazed….She will make your day better…says she will come home and I believe her.
