Governor McCrory and NC Secretary of Agriculture, Steve Troxler will be in Bladen County today…..Not sure how long they will be here and not sure where all they will visit….Do know they will be at Lu Mill Vineyard at 12:30 p.m. and have been advised they may visit another site or two…BladenOnline will be there to cover wherever they go… Understand they want to talk with farmers about the state of agriculture after all the rainfall we have had over the past few days. Rep. William Brisson of Bladen, will likely be there as well…

And, speaking of rain…Our gauge at the Hester household indicated 0.70 inches of rainfall over the past 24 yours…Added to previous rainfall, we have had 10 inches of rain since Thursday…

All in all…Bladen County appeared to fare well with all the rain we have had…Some damage due to erosion but nothing that cannot be repaired soon…

I recently received a good report from my latest physical…so, yesterday, I celebrated with a big plate of chicken and rice under a tobacco shelter near Tar Heel and a BBQ sandwich at the Four County meeting…Good Bladen County food…
