Yesterday was the 61st anniversary of Hurricane Hazel. I remember as if it were yesterday…Have mentioned it many times…

State Fair will be a fun place to be this weekend….Began yesterday and if you have never been…..Take cash and patience…..

And now there are just 4 teams still hopeful of playing in the World Series…Cubs & Mets in the National League and Blue Jays & Royals in the American League…..

High School football continues this evening….East Bladen travels to Heidi Trask and West celebrates Homecoming as they entertain the Pender Patriots….and is the Bladen Sports Network’s Game of the Week….Hope to see you at the game….if not, join us on WODR, 105.3 or on BladenOnline.com. Broadcast begins at 7 p.m., game time is 7:30 p.m. The weather should be cool…..mid to low 60’s by the end of the game…

The high school team have only 3 regular season games after tonight…West has only one more regular season home game after tonight (Midway on October 30). East also has 3 more regular season games….Two are at home (Wallace Rose Hill next Friday and West Bladen on November 6).

The Elizabethtown High School class of 1985 had a fun-filled weekend last week….They had a party that lasted throughout the weekend, attended the East Bladen football game, rekindled friendships….Growing older, still making memories.

Fall has arrived….Expect cooler temps Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Time to ‘plunder’ through the closet for warmer clothing…..
