The bus accident Friday afternoon could have been much worse. There appears to be no serious injuries to the students on board and hopefully little damage the bus…Students may pickup their belongings left on the bus, today (Saturday) between 12 noon and 2 p.m. at Clarkton School of Discovery.

Just in case you did not see….Bladen and surrounding counties have an increased fire danger today..Relative Humidity will drop as low as 25 percent this afternoon….When coupled with sunshine and increasing southwest breezes…outdoor burning will pose an increased risk…

In short…refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today…If you do burn….you are advised to use caution…(National Weather Statement)

E-town Dixie Youth officials had a huge show of community support at their annual reverse raffle fundraiser Friday night at E-town Primary School. It is good to see such support for youth activities….Organizers and supporters deserve a big “Thanks.”

A salute to the West Bladen boys basketball team taking over top spot in the Four County Conference standings with their defeat of Clinton….

The East Bladen girls remain undefeated winning handily over Wallace Rose Hill for win number 22 with no losses and 12-0 in conference play.

Nice to see two local teams atop the standings….good talent, hard work and good leadership are necessary and both teams appear to have it…

How do you tell when you run out of invisible ink?

What happens when you are scared half to death twice?

No one is listening until you make a mistake.

Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.
