Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love
A look back at the past week…..

Measles was the most talked about issue by presidential candidates and we were told by our US Senator that restaurants need not remind their employees to wash their hands after a visit to the bathroom.

Apparently it was a slow business week in DC.

More solar farms are apparently on the way….My unofficial advisers inform me that landowners can lease their open land, if it meets the criteria, for about $1200 an acre for 15 to 20 years and that is better than raising corn, cotton, peanuts and whatever they planned to plant….Thought I heard a couple of years ago the price was in the $1500 range…my memory plays games with me…

I must confess, I give up on when we will receive our new reval values…Early talk was in December, then January, then the last of January, then was told the info was sent to someone, somewhere on January 30 to generate the bills and we should receive the past week…No idea when….All I know is what I am told….

Visited my former walking friend Saturday who was severely injured on September 11 in a 2 vehicle accident near Bladen Community College.  Janice Johnson has made much improvement, but still a long way to go…She is in extended care unit of Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.  Her birthday is upcoming soon and the family is planning a huge party.  Will keep you informed…and to her friends, if you can’t go,maybe send a card.  Will provide the address…soon.  Her birthday is February 24, party is planned for Sunday the 22nd.  More later….

The period between football and the baseball/nascar season is a long time…Oh, I know there is basketball, hockey and golf…but need another option….

Think spring….

Diets are for those who are thick and tired of it.

I would have given my right arm to be a pianist.

The really frightening thing about middle age is the knowledge that you’ll grow out of it.

Good fishing is just a matter of timing.  You have to have been there yesterday.
