Sunshine on a fall day, love it.

A salute to Wanda Everette on her retirement after many years at the Board of Education. She has seen many Superintendents come and go. Lots of institutional memory will depart the scene, when she departs the scene.

Veterans Day is an important holiday. We thank them all. Nice ceremony at the Elizabethtown National Guard Armory yesterday, two (2) more, today, one at Bladen Community College beginning at 11 a.m. and at the Bladenboro historical building at 2 p.m.

Bladenboro Fire Chief Jackie Coleman has issued an invitation to everyone to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new fire station. The official ceremonies begin at 10 a.m., visit anytime thru 3 p.m. A nice, much needed addition to the Bladenboro area.

One more reminder of the West Bladen High School booster club reverse raffle and dinner at the school. It’s this Saturday evening and for more info, contact Jimmy Schultz at 549-0968 or 862-4568 or call the school. Proceeds support the school’s athletic programs.

My to-to list does not get shorter…..reason, have taken no action recently. Use weather as a reason, time to use another excuse…

Star Communication members are encouraged to attend the 55th annual meeting of the co-op to be held Saturday beginning 10 a.m. at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, 414 Warsaw Road in Clinton.

Growing older means more memories, if you can remember them.
