Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Ever forget the meaning of Christmas? Most do.

I know it is good to help those the needy around the state and nation, but there is real hurt close to home. Some not physically able to work, some elderly attempting to raise grandchildren on their limited income, the needs are great in our area. And, I agree, some to sorry to work. My guess is, DSS or your church family can direct you to deserving individuals and families.

The old bridge on NC 11 was ‘dropped’ this week according to a message I saw from Rusty Marsh, NCDOT Engineer. Two old bridges in the county now a thing of the past. The Tar Heel bridge was ‘dropped’ earlier this year. Both bridges over the Cape Fear river needed to be replaced.

I wish I had been the first to manufacture or be the salesperson for orange and white traffic cones. Between NCDOT and the Town of Elizabethtown, I think I could have a good Christmas.

The Bladenboro Christmas Parade begins at 10:30. Old Saint Nick will be in town as will John Rendleman. Rendleman, Sports Anchor for WWAY-TV will be Grand Marshall.

A salute to our law enforcement officers at the local and state level, our EMS providers, rescue squad volunteers, fireman and others who we rely on but forget to say thanks to.

Bill Gates quotes:
Life is not fair, get use to it,

If you think your teacher is tough, wait ’til you get a boss,

Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping–they called if opportunity,

If you mess up, it’s not your parents fault, so don’t whine, learn from it.

Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.
