Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Weather is always in the news in February…No different in 2015…Low temps in the mid 20’s Thursday and Friday night and in the upper teens Saturday night. Sunday’s high is forecast to be near 30 degrees.
Can’t help but think about many who depend on wood or kerosene in a stand-alone heater or depend on an open fireplace to stay warm…Nothing wrong with that, but for those who live in a climate controlled environment, we sometimes forget…I know, many prefer the non controlled environment…but for some, it’s their only option….A strong wind will lower the chill factor…A climate controlled home with indoor plumbing is wonderful on a cold day.  Don’t see many outdoor toilets anymore, thank goodness…..Using an outdoor toilet any day, especially a winter day or night, is cruel and unusual treatment…
Sometimes I have more time than is needed and tend to venture into areas that may not need a visit…For instance, did you know that according to Social Security records, if you live to age 65, males are likely to have a life expediency of 84.3 years and 86.6 for females…Other stats I found indicated males life expediency was in the range of 75 for males and 81 years for females..Take you pick…..Info you did not need and likely do not care…
A new Dublin Medical Clinic is exciting….The area needs a new, updated facility.  Much good medical service has been provided over the years in the old building….
A Charity Ball reunion is planned for Wesley’s Chapel UMC on Saturday, February 21.  Those were fun days for so many…
What about local teachers (educators) giving the NC Legislators a grade average….and a vote on their compensation package…A-B-C-D-E-F????…maybe a termination slip????
Oh yes…Valentines Day is Saturday….lest you forget…
“Get married early in the morning.  That way, if it doesn’t work, you haven’t wasted a whole day.”  Mickey Rooney
“I require three things in a man.  He must be handsome, ruthless and stupid.”  Dorothy Parker
“Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and give her a house.”  Groucho Marx
