Thoughts While Shaving

This is the last weekend prior to Christmas 2015 and the last weekend prior to the closing of the filing period for the 2016 elections.

Will be busy in all shopping areas.  Be aware of your surroundings.  Lots of good people, and some thugs…

Would be nice to have a busy Monday morning at the Bladen County Board of Elections.  The filing deadline for the March 15 primary and November General Election is 12 noon.

There are six county commissioners seats to be filled, 3 at-large and one each from the 3 districts and three 3 district board of education positions to be determined.

Sure hope I did not miss any of the locals….if I did, I apologize in advance.

There are others, of course, including several local judges, one being Scott Ussery of Bladen County, who is seeking re-election, none with opposition, at this time..

Very little interest by local residents.  Who cares? Apparently no one.

Christmas parties are ongoing and last night the BladenOnline crew and Cape Fear Heating and Cooling employees were treated by Daine and Charlotte Smith.  Fun time, good to see all, and thanks to the Smiths’ for the invitation.

Cantatas will be the order of worship at many local churches tomorrow.  If you have no plans, you are welcomed to share a service at Wesley’s Chapel UMC, Peanut Road just southwest of Elizabethtown.

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.  W.T. Ellis

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.  Burton Hillis

Mankind is a great, an immense family…This is proved by what we feel in our hearts at Christmas.  Pope John  XXIII
