Thoughts While Shaving
It’s Saturday, normally a good day to work outside, but be careful.  Cool, windy…not a good day to burn anything.  Gust up to 33 mph, and then tonight our temps drop in the upper 20s. Plan accordingly.
Not sure our ‘berry farmers ever adjust to the cold ‘snaps’ that come just about every spring.
One more award for Lacy Suggs, East Bladen High School student athlete.  John Clark has covered on our sports page, but worth noting again.  She was recently named to the AP All-State prep basketball team.
I enjoy the Master’s Golf Tournament.  Yesterday, Tom Watson, one of PGA’s greatest, played his final competitive round in Augusta, and current champ, Jordan Spieth overcame a double bogey to hold on to the lead.  Today, Spieth will be paired with Rory Mcllrory, another young tiger, in the final pairing.
Speaking of golf, the Annual Bladen We Care Golf Tournament will be played at Vineyard Golf at White Lake on Thursday, April 21.  If you have not entered, and you want to play, call 874-4001 for info.
Last night the Annual Gala was held at The Venue at White Lake.  One of the largest crowds ever, a fun event and successful fund raiser.  Proceeds from the Gala and Golf tournament benefit so many local folks dealing with medical issues.  Donations are welcomed.  Thanks for your support.
Today’s baseball team from 1977, courtesy of the Southeastern Times, is the Dublin Blue Team.  Team members included, Andy Walters, Rodney Jones, Roby Wyatt, June Brisson, Jimmy Atkinson, Mathew Brown, Darrin Davis, Denise Taylor, Michael Kinlaw, Bessie Atkinson, Sylvia McKoy, Mike Gilmore, Darby Carroll, Joy Tedder, Stewart Pait, Rusty Hill and Joe Callihan.  Coaches were Linda Davis, Doris Hill and Thomas Butler.
Coffee, chocolate, men…some things are just better rich.
If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen.
Real men know the value of duct tape.
