Gov. McCrory was in Bladen County yesterday for a couple of events, the Law Enforcement Golf Tournament at Vineyard Golf at White Lake and a fund-raiser at the Elizabethtown Farmers Market. Always good to have political leaders in the area. US Senator Richard Burr visited earlier in the week. Hope both come again, soon and often.
Temps yesterday were more like July and August. Our official high was 94 degrees, recorded by the National Weather Service at Curtis Brown Airport in Elizabethtown.
A reminder of the Tuesday election. Short ballot….US House of Representative and Supreme Court Justice. Can you name any candidate for either office? Probably not.
Hopefully the Tuesday elections nationwide will bring to a close the primary elections and then the circus really begins, not that it hasn’t already.
When I think of elections this year, I wonder what my mom would think, with all the “ugly” things being said by all presidential candidates. She always told us there was good in everyone, just need to look for it. Well mom, maybe. This year will take a little longer to sort it out.
