Thoughts While ShavingToday may be the first day in a while when high temps fall short of 90 degrees.  Forecast includes “drenching afternoon thunderstorms”

Yesterday, at the Hester household a couple of miles south-southwest of Elizabethtown, we recorded 1.8 inches of rain and experienced high winds.

The US Weather Station at the Curtis Brown Airport, east of downtown Elizabethtown, recorded just over half inch of rain with wind gusts up to 33 mph.

If you are an early riser, you no doubt have noticed the days are getting shorter.

Had the pleasure of attending the ‘soft opening’ of Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery last evening.  A large crowd enjoyed delicious food and spent time strolling through and around the site with family and friends.  Would describe it a huge success.  A ‘homerun’ for Alex Munroe and his staff.

The 3rd round of the British Open is underway.  Unfortunately, William McGirt (Fairmont Golden Tornado) failed to make the cut.  Missed it by one stroke.  Bogies on #10, 11, and 17 and a double bogey on #5 killed his chances despite four birdies on his final round.  It was the first British Open for McGirt.  The tournament is being played at Royal Troon in Scotland.
