Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingGrass needs to be cut, football tonight, rain is a possibility and Wesley’s Chapel church camp begins today.

East Bladen football team plays host to South Columbus this evening.  Robby Priest and Russell Dove square off once again.  Dove recently left West Bladen for South Columbus.

Todd Pait’s West Bladen Knights will be at South Robeson tonight.

A reminder, game time this year is 7 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than in the past.  And, there will be no Bladen Sports Network broadcast this year.  Dan Allen and I retired after the past season and Ricky Leinwand and Joe Melvin made every attempt to carry on, but, there is no FM radio station in the area available for them to work with.  BladenOnline was ready to participate as they had in the past, but the FM radio is a must.

We need rain, but would be nice if it did not disrupt sports action tonight, unfortunately, we can’t control that.

And speaking of rainfall, .6 inches was recorded at the Hester household near Elizabethtown yesterday.  Rainfall amounts will vary.

Church camps are memorable events.  If you have had the pleasure of participating as a youngster or adult, no doubt you remember many details.  Wesley’s Chapel’s youth and adults will make memories over the next few days at the FFA Camp at White Lake.

And, yesterday, I made reference to Danaher, one of Bladen’s long time industries yesterday, referring to the ribbon cutting in the 1960s when it was Veeder Root.  A good friend and faithful reader informed me Danaher is now Speciality Product Technologies.  The company owns several companies including, Veeder Root, Eagle Signal, Joslyn Clark, Namco, Superior Electric and Thomson.  Thanks

Just tell them what time it is; they don’t care how you built the watch.

It’s better to lose in the first round than in the 15th.

If all you’ve got is a hammer in your hand, then everything’ll look like a nail.
