Another busy weekend in Bladen, local fund-raisers, high school football, college football, all with an eye further south as Hurricane Mathew as it begins to make a turn to the north.

Mathew’s winds are in the range of 150 MPH, and with a change in direction, forecasters are following closely, with new info as it heads north.

East Bladen’s Eagles put up a good fight, but lost to Clinton, Friday night West Bladen lost to Wallace Rose Hill.

How about the Clemson-Louisville college game?  Clemson won by less than a touchdown.  Good game.

Tar Heels win, Wolfpack wins over Demon Deacons of Wake Forest, Duke lost to Virginia, and ECU loses at home to South Florida.

Lost a worldwide statesman last week.  Shimon Peres, 93 year old former Israel Prime Minister, died.
