I still get excited about seeing my Bladenboro Bulldog classmates from ’56. We have gathered every 5 years since graduation. Our numbers have dropped, as you would expect, but still a goodly number after all these years. Will see them today.
According to info received recently, graduates of Clarkton High School will also get-together this afternoon at the their old school.
When I travel Peanut Plant Road, past WBLA radio station, I have so many wonderful memories related to my 20 years there, but there are others, like dealing with the light on the top of the tower. When it ceased working, the FAA must be notified. It is expensive to replace. Had to find someone to climb the tower, replace the bulb and then report to the FAA. According to the federal agency, the tower is in the flight path of the local airport.
Shoppers continue to shop. For many of us, that is a serious chore to be put-off as long as possible.
