WOW, high temps will vary greatly over the next few days, as they have over the past few days. Example:

Saturday   60 (forecast)
Sunday     78 (forecast)
Monday    42 (forecast)
Wallace-Rose Hill High School football team captured their 3rd consecutive state championship last night, defeating West Montgomery 30-7.  The Bulldogs finished the season 15-1.  Another feather in the cap of Joey Price, his staff and the team.
Among the games set for today, Cape Fear of Cumberland County plays Dudley for the 4A State Championship @ NC State.  Gametime is 7:05 PM.
About 450 degrees will be awarded today at Campbell University.  Had the pleasure of attending a department ceremony yesterday.  Jaret Carroll and Katie Hinton were among the 30 plus receiving a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy, the first class ever for the school.  Carroll is from Bladenboro and Hinton from Texas.  So why do I mention someone from Texas?  True confession, Hinton is the girlfriend of our grandson, Brooks Hester, so we attended as did Glen and Betty Jo Cain of Bladenboro, Brooks other grandparents.  Carroll is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Carroll.  Oh yes, parents of Katie and Brooks attended as well.  Congratulations to all.
As we visited a couple of facilities on campus, I thought of the contribution of Dr. Jerry Wallace.  The former pastor of Elizabethtown Baptist Church served the University in numerous positions for nearly 40 years, including 11 years as President, retiring June 2015.
The legislative charade in Raleigh captured headlines in New York, Washington and Great Britain.  Bad news travels fast.
When told “there is good news and bad news” one can be sure the bad news will be worse than the good news is good.
All preventable error can be traced to either negligence or incompetence.
The best defense against the destructive power of ignorance is the recognition of its existence.
