Thoughts While Shaving

Just one more week ’til Christmas.  Remember how long that final week was when you were a youngster, waiting on Santa?

Today, many Christmas Cantatas are scheduled at area churches.  Volunteers have spent many hours in preparation.  Let’s support them.  And, if you are looking for one more location to visit, you will be welcomed at Wesley’s Chapel UMC, Peanut Plant Road about 3 miles southwest of Elizabethtown.  ‘Believe in Christmas’ is the title of this years musical, begins at 6 PM and everyone is invited.

I enjoy listening to supporters of various candidates explain their support for this one or another.  Ever wonder why their candidates is judged ‘less harshly’?  Not sure the yard stick for the candidate they support is just 36 inches.  Some need a little more, call it ‘wiggle room’.

Yesterday turned out to be a great day, weatherwise.  Lots of sunshine, little wind and a high of 65 degrees.  We have another beautiful day awaiting, if the weather forecast is correct.  High temps in the 77 degree range.  Tomorrow, cooler with periods of rain and a high in the mid 40s.

If you called it a day before the NFL game ended, Dolphins 34, Jets 13.  And, how about that Kentucky/UNC basketball game.  The only way it could have been more entertaining would be for UNC to have won the game.  It was a thriller.  103-100, Wildcats.

Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting.  It is happiness because we see joy in people.  It is forgetting self and finding time for others.  It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.  Thomas S. Monson

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.  Norman Vincent Peale

Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection.  Winston Churchill
