Spring officially arrives Monday. After a warmer than usual February and a very cold week in March, hopefully we return soon to more normal weather for this time of the year. Average high for the month of March is 67 and normal low is 40 degrees.

Remember when farmers (and others) spoke of ‘breaking land’ as they prepared to begin the planting season. Later there was takin’ out tobacco, pickin’ cotton, stackin’ or pullin’ peanuts.

A reminder that the annual East Bladen Reverse Raffle fundraiser, will be held tomorrow (Saturday) with dinner beginning at 5:00, with the reverse raffle to follow. For tickets info, call 910-862-3772.
