Thoughts While Shaving

The weather has capture headlines across the state in recent days…hopefully the topic will change to something better.

Law enforcement in the area are undergoing training and every agency in the county is involved…Re-enforces my thoughts over the years….I appreciate what they do…..I just have no desire to be in law enforcement

Our local high school basketball teams will hopefully get past the first round of the state playoffs tonight….Eastern Randolph will hopefully get to East Bladen for a 5 p.m.girls game…..and West Bladen hopefully can make the trip to Currituck….for a 6 p.m. game….

West Bladen boys are scheduled to host a second round game, Southwest Onslow is schedule for a 7 p.m. game at West Bladen….The Knights defeated East Bladen earlier this week…..

There is much planned in the area for today and tomorrow….See the articles…news and sports and our events section.

If you travel US 701 and the NC 87 bypass you see lots of activity….moving utility lines above and below ground…red flags showing up, at least one house has been taken down and one old, real old grave yard has been moved….all preparing for some big changes coming to the intersection…Huge bucks, but a safer intersection…hopefully.

I listen to friends…and others talking about their place of worship….So much Me, I, We….sometimes think God and others have not made the agenda yet….The music is to slow. the music is to loud, the preacher is not preaching the word of God, he speaks to long…Do you hear that?  If you have all the answers and it’s all about me, we and I…maybe a conversation with the person in the mirror is needed and some time on your knees…..No particular church, no particular denomination…just church folks in general….for some the only topic to talk about….and we wonder why too many churches are seeing a drop in attendance….Maybe the absentees were hopeful of less me, we and I and more emphasis on worship….Pass the plate brothers and sisters….

Anger is a condition in which the tongue works faster than the mind.

God always gives the best to those who leave the choice to him.

The phrase that is guaranteed to wake up the group: “And in conclusion.”
