Thoughts While Shaving

Over the next 3 or 4 days, White Lake will be a very popular destination, in fact the coming week is one the most popular weekends of the year for the resort area.  Obviously visitors  enjoy the area.  They swim, enjoy boating, skiing, play golf at the Vineyard Golf Course, shop in White Lake and Elizabethtown and enjoy local restaurants.  They bring money and pay lots of sales tax.  Welcome all.

Tourism is good, clean business.

Another reminder of Fireworks, Tuesday, July 4th about 9 PM.  It’s free, come early, parking space is limited.

While on the topic of the 4th of July, 183 days remain until the end of the year.

Thought this was interesting, July 4th is slightly more likely to fall on a Monday, Wednesday or Saturday (58 in 400 years) than on Thursday or Friday (57) and slightly less likely to occur on a Tuesday or Sunday (56).  The Aphelion, the point in the year when the Earth is farthest from the sun, occurs around this date, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

It is, of course, the day we celebrate our independence, as a nation, adopted by the Second Constitutional Congress in 1776.

Locally, the Elizabethtown Sidewalk Sale continues.

It rained hard yesterday in many areas of the county, slightly over 1.5 inches in the Happy Valley area, about 3 miles southwest of E-town and there is a slight chance for more everyday over the next several days.  Hopefully, not enough to cause serious problems, kinda off and on, hopefully more off than on.
