Today is Independence Day, a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Congress actually declared independence two days earlier on July 2.
Today our nation will celebrate with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball, family reunions. For many, just another work day.
One of the highlights in Bladen County is the Annual Fireworks show at White Lake, shortly after 9 PM today.
