No filings in the past couple of days of candidates for the November municipal elections.  A brief recap as of closing time Monday.

The filing deadline is 12 noon Friday, June 21 at the Bladen County Board of Elections.
Filing fee is $5 and the election will be held November 7, 2017.

Bladenboro Town Board is meeting in Closed Session Thursday to discuss personnel.

Yesterday’s edition of Thoughts While Shaving included info related to the opening of Bladen County Public Schools and the new Emereau Charter School on Airport Road in Elizabethtown, but failed to mention the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy located at 1360 MLK Drive in E-town.  Google their site, lots of info about who, what, when and where.  It is a Charter School.

Think robots will eventually make a huge difference in how we do business?  Some are all ready.  New robots could become first responders.  They could be dispatched in driverless vehicles, begin fighting a blaze, even entering the structure to search for victims, and we can record it all using a drone and camera.  My mom would have a difficult time understanding and I do as well.
