Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingPublic schools opened yesterday, hopefully on a positive note and the eclipse has taken place.  So, what’s next?

At least one more huge, positive event on the schedule, the final Summer Sounds Concert for 2017.  Bladen County’s own Blackwater Rhythm & Blues Band will provide the music, Thursday, August 24th at Cape Fear Farmers Market in downtown Elizabethtown.  All have been a ‘huge hit’, all FREE, all sponsored by various merchants under the direction of the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce, all family events.  Congratulations to Dawn Maynard for another Summer of Fun.

A reminder that high school football begins Friday.  East Bladen travels to Clinton and West Bladen kicks off the 2017 campaign at South Brunswick. John Clark has covered more youth sporting events than anyone around, and he has been doing it for BladenOnline since 2008, and in the county since his high school days, many ‘moons’ ago……He is no ‘Johnny Come Lately’.  Check our Sports Section for daily updates.

Tennis, Soccer, football, all high school sports schedules are at the bottom of our Sports Section.  Check them out.  We aim to please.

BladenOnline has a great group of ‘locals’, working daily to keep you and me informed of local events!  Thanks to ALL.

Speaking of local sports, how about the Greenville, NC Little League baseball team playing at the national level, began the tournament with back-to-back no-hitters.

I never forget a face, but in your case I’d be glad to make an exception.  Groucho Marx

Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?  George Carlin

Thirty ways to shape up for summer.  Number one: eat less.  Number two: exercise more.  Number three: what was I talking about again  I’m so hungry.  Maria Bamford.
