Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingEnjoy this day…weather-wise, it would be difficult to complain about anything… Partly sunny, with a high near 76 and a southerly breeze in the AM.

Nothing helps me put things in perspective more than a trip to one of our larger cities in NC.  I-40 from Benson to Raleigh was a zoo Monday…and I was just one animal on the roadway…I love calling Bladen County home…I appreciate those who drive daily for their “grocery money.”

A reminder of a class today at the Bladen County extension office, ‘Making the Most of Your Vegetable Garden”… Needed to pre-register as of yesterday afternoon….

Today would be a good day to enjoy a high school sporting event… John Clark has the schedule posted on our sports page..

Congratulations to the Wingate University girls basketball team.  They were upset last week and failed to earn a spot in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional tournament.  They received one of 10 at large invitations and will face number four seed Lander University in the tournament that begins Friday (March 13).  The time of their game has not been announced.  Another “feather” in the hat of coach Ann Hancock, an East Bladen grad.

ACC tournament begins with a couple of games… Boston College vs Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. and Wake Forest and Virginia Tech play at 3.  The tournament is in Greensboro.  Games will be televised…

A reminder of the Four County EMC spring meeting this evening at Wesley’s Chapel Church multi-purpose building.  The church is located at 2409 Peanut Plant Road, southeast of Elizabethtown.  Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7.  It’s an informal type setting where you can receive info about the coop operation… It is one of several in the area over the next few days and all customers are invited…

I always try to go the extra mile at work, but my boss always finds me and brings me back.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 96% how I react to it…

I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.
