Thoughts While ShavingPray for residents of Florida.  Early Sunday, Hurricane Irma was just off the coast of south Florida, moving forward at about 8 mph.

We could have some rain and wind Monday, but nothing to compare with what we were expecting from the storm a few days ago.

We appear to be on the fringe area of Hurricane Irma.  The threat to our area, in addition to some rain and wind, is possible tornado warnings and a slight possibility of power outages, as the storm moves northwest, hopefully missing North Carolina.  Eventually Irma should be down graded to a tropical storm in the Tennessee/Kentucky area by midweek.

The Cry Out America event scheduled for Monday, 9-11, at the Bladen County Courthouse, has been postponed due to stormy weather.

All in all, we are fortunate.

Anytime there is news related to a hurricane, older folks can tell you where they were and what they were doing in 1954 when Hurricane Hazel came calling.

A reminder of the Dublin Peanut Festival set for Saturday, September 16.  A 10 AM parade will kick-off the event.
