Thoughts While ShavingAttendees at the East Bladen-Fairmont must feel like they ‘got’ their $6’s worth last night.  It was Homecoming, coach Robby Priest was presented a jacket by Shriners to honor him for his selection as an Assistant Coach in the upcoming NC-SC Shriners football game in December, A King and Queen were crowned and the football game with Fairmont was decided in the final seconds of the game when Shy Pone ran back a Golden Tornado kick off 74 yards for a 42-38 win.  Fairmont threatened with seconds left on the clock, but failed to score.  John Clark has the complete details on our sports page.

West Bladen lost to Whiteville, but are still 3-4 in conference play, a huge improvement overall when compared with last year.

Next week, East Bladen travels to St. Pauls and West Bladen entertains West Columbus.

At the top of the conference standings today;
South Columbus   7-0
East Bladen   6-1
Whiteville   6-1
Red Springs  5-2
St. Pauls 4-3

Fairmont   3-4 with South Robeson, East and West Columbus bringing up the rear.
