UNC and ECU football fans must be suffering from a lack of anything to get excited about. To say the ‘Heels and Pirates are having a ‘bad year’ is an understatement.
Locally owned businesses are an important ingredient of NC business and the latest edition of Business North Carolina lists the top 100 private companies in the state. Sampson-Bladen, birthed in Bladen, now headquartered in Clinton, is listed at number 20. Hadden Clark is the President of the company. They are a wholesaler, retailer and transporter of petroleum products.
BladenOnline has added a new feature to the Sports Page. Check ‘Bladen County Athletes Playing in College’. It’s a John and Ray project. This week, participants in fall sports are highlighted. Farrell Murchison, Kayla Thompson and Hastin McGill are featured.
With that thought in mind, another feature that would be interesting is, Where Are They Now? Locals who played college sports and then moved on to the ‘real world.’

It’s Sunday, that means church this morning and NFL football this afternoon. Think I mentioned previously, but the Hester males, Rick, John, Brooks and RGH submit their picks and I can tell you if any of the group were working as professionals in the business, all would be terminated.
