Thoughts While Shaving

January has been an interesting month….more cloudy, dreary weather than I recall in a while (may just be more forgetful)…but, every day is a good day…

I appreciate “thoughts” readers….and never am I reminded more than when I make a boo-boo…and they tend to come often…The latest…

I misquoted a gospel tune..The correct words…..”You don’t have to walk on water, it’s how you walk on land”

More of the tune, “Everybody judges everybody else,  everybody done it, to everyone but themselves.  We know what’s right, but we still go wrong and life still goes on, even when we fail”….

So much for a sermon today…

The Lu Mil Vineyard Bridal Show will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

A reminder of the 27th annual parade honoring the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in downtown Elizabethtown.

Bladen Community College will present a special program celebrating the MLK holiday.  Judge Fred Gore will be the keynote speaker  The program begins at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20th at BCC.

A huge event is slated for the  Elizabethtown Armory Saturday.  Bladen County Resource Fair will be held from 10 to 2.  See our news article…

A year ago, the speculation was all about who will run for this office or that….Quiet in the off years…politically…

Governmental offices will be closed Monday in observances of the MLK holiday…

Thought provoking one liners…..

I asked a librarian if she was free this afternoon, she said she was all booked up.

The testimony at the barbershop is mostly hair-say.

And I like this one…..I drove around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on my John Deere.  I was on a track tour.
