Thoughts While ShavingAstros 4 – Yankees 0. Astros vs Dodgers in 2017 World Series. Charlie Morton and Lance McCullers, Jr. combine for shut out to oust Bronx Bombers.

And for ECU fans: Pirates win over BYU Cougars 33-17. UNC soundly defeated by Va. Tech, 59-7. Duke loses to Georgia Tech. NC State had open date.

No plans by ECU or UNC football fans to travel to a bowl game, unless some who attended another institution or likes another team invites them

Continue to receive questions related to local high school football broadcast. Must have an FM radio station to carry games and none are available. The station in Whiteville was sold to a group of investors from Georgia who own several others in the that area. They have a religious format and apparently are not interested in any sports or any kind. The station had also broadcast UNC games, but no longer. Local FM station was moved to Fayetteville several years ago. It is what it is. Wish there was a FM station available.

I miss Master Fried Chicken outlet near Walmart in E-town. Many good restaurants in the area, but few if any have corn dogs. Master Fried also featured great BBQ pork and chicken. Closed months ago due to health issues by owner.

Enjoy when someone from the past makes a surprise contact. Such was the case recently when my errant email to BladenOnlines’ John Clark was sent to former E-town John Clark, long time resident of Mecklenburg County. His mom will celebrate her 100 birthday in January if all goes as planned. Miss Adele, has lived in a retirement village in Laurinburg for several years. Her husband, Ed Clark passed away years ago.

Remember when one sign of a male youngster growing up was he was old enough to carry a knife anywhere he wanted to, school, church, you name it? It was to keep in his pocket except when he needed to ‘whittle’ a little. Times have changed. Back then, OK, now a crime I guess.

If you look for good or bad in anyone, you can most likely find it!
