East Bladen is the #1 seeded football team, despite finishing tied with Whiteville and South Columbus after Friday night play.
East Bladen defeated West 47-14. Whiteville closed out their regular season play with an upset win over previously unbeaten South Columbus. Whiteville, South Columbus and East Bladen ended conference play tied 8-1and 10-1 overall. A drawing was held late last night. East Bladen is seeded #1 and South Columbus #2. State playoffs begin Friday.
Early voting is over in municipal contest, the election is set for Tuesday.
Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday at 6:30 in the courthouse for a regular monthly meeting. It’s open to the public.
The weather has been perfect over the past few days, if you like warm weather in November. I recall, many, many years ago in school with no air conditioning and warm temps, not so good, except at recess time and too often I was busy picking up paper on the playground for disciplinary reasons, at that exact time.
