Thoughts While ShavingBladen County Commissioners meet at 6:30 this p.m…..regular bi-monthly meeting and the Bladenboro Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. for a Special Session.

Driver’s Ed classes begin today at West Bladen High School.  Must be 14 1/2 years old to sign up…East Bladen will offer classes beginning on April 13….

We had no drivers ed classes when I was 16….but the date I received a drivers license, graduation, wedding date and date of children’s birth are some of my most memorable dates…..As I grew older, added grandchildren birth date to the list…

Today should be a good day to do some work outside if the wind does not get to strong….High in the 70’s with sunshine….

A reminder of the upcoming Bladen We Care fundraisers….The date is set for Friday, April 17 for the Gala at The Venue at White Lake….Tickets are on sale for $100 per couple and the Annual Golf Tournament is set for April 23rd at Vineyard Golf at White Lake.  Tickets are available from Board Members and others…See our article and ad on Bladen Online…

I do not know of another group anywhere in the area that provides assistance for every citizen in the county, if  needed…..for residents falling through the cracks in our medical healthcare system…..Bladen We Care provides assistance on a short term basis…and supports efforts of such groups as Bladen Baptist and Bladen Crisis Center….to mention a few….

Mr. Francis Hardee will be buried today….another of Bladen’s finest…..He would have been 98 years old had he lived to April 17….Check the Bladen Gaskins website under Obits on BladenOnline for details……
