Tiger Woods is hopefully on the road to recovery, after numerous back surgeries, had a good showing this past weekend in his first PGA event in a long time. Picked up another $100,000 plus in winnings, but bet he would say the money is nice, but to be physically able to play competitively is worth much more.
Christmas time is coming and there are many youngsters who will have little or nothing under their Christmas tree, unless someone ‘steps up’. Elf’s Angels, directed in this area by Debbie Heustess of Clarkton, has assisted numerous families over past years and will do so again this year. Donations are accepted/needed. I am surprised that the US debt is not an issue during the tax overhaul. Only important for both parties during election time. Remember the rhetoric from previous campaigns, “we’re drowning in red ink and leaving the debt for our children”. Now, it’s OK to add even more.
Elizabethtown Rescue Squad’s annual Christmas party was held last night. Thanks for the invite. It was good to share time with retired members from days gone by. I realize our paid EMS service is very good, but without backup by volunteer squads we would be in ‘bad shape’. Thanks to all who still volunteer.
