Thoughts While Shaving

When I think about someone who has died, regardless of how well I may know them, a 2 hour or more wait to speak to the family speaks volumes about the deceased individual and family.

I am not a huge Twitter fan, but gaining some respect for the site.  Prefer comments of locals addressing local concerns.  Do not read them all, but do glance at a few and wish a happy birthday to friends on Facebook.

In fact, many different sites offer a peak at local issues by local folks, without taking a lot of time.  Examples….LinkedIn, Messenger, Facebook, Instagram.  We can read or delete them.  I realize there are others.  .

Bladen County Commissioners and Bladen Agri-Industrial boards are meeting today to discuss how working together to attract industry, expand the local industrial tax base and add jobs is beneficial to all citizens in the county.

We have had more than our share of tragedy in Bladen in recent days.  Deaths by vehicle, fires to dwellings and then there is the criminal activity that never seems to end.  Sure could use a little good news today.

Forecast for cold weather continues for a few more days with the possibility of rain and snow showers on Wednesday (tomorrow).  Plan accordingly.  Thoughts of a hot July day is more appealing now, than in July.

Check our Events Page for more activities in the area, and a reminder, John Clark and others, do a great job keeping our Sports Page current.

Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.

Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.

Growth is never by mere chance, it is the result of forces working together for a common good.
