It has been a very good week for the stock market. Those who own stock, have a 401K or some other type savings plan are most likely in a better financial situation today. Still think of those that, for whatever the reason, have no savings. Too many still living hand to mouth with little hope of better times. Some because they are poor managers, but far too many because there is nothing left over after taking care of day to day, week to week and month to month needs.
Far to often we judge an individual by where they are today, with little or no information on where their journey began.
This will be the first weekend in many months with no NFL regular season or playoff action. Super Bowl next weekend; Eagles vs Patriots.
Filing for the next round of elections begins in a couple of weeks. Several individuals have made their intentions known, some incumbents and some newcomers. I had the honor of serving 8 years as a County Commissioner from 1974 until 1982. I always filed early, first day so every time the news media listed candidates my name was on the list. Some have other thoughts. Many wait until the final day, final hour. To each his/her own.
Call or visit the Bladen County Board of Elections for details. They can provide details….
I remind all, if you are unhappy with the way things are going, want to see changes, time to step up, add your name to the list of candidates, tell your story and if more line up for you than others, you get to make the difficult decisions. Same story I have shared for years. Might want to share your thoughts with close friends and family, see if they make some sense to them before facing a sometime ‘testy’ public.
A reminder, BladenOnline was birthed February 1, 2008, 10 years ago. I am still excited about what we do and what lies ahead. We found a need and filled it. The Best Is Yet To Come!
Congratulations to Dr. William Findt on his recent retirement announcement as President of Bladen Community College. We wish him the best.
Weather should be ideal for outdoor activities today….enjoy.
