Congratulations to the East Bladen girls basketball team. They defeated the Hertford County Lady Bears 69-28 last night extending their record to 26-1. The Eagles will be looking for their 23rd consecutive win Thursday night when they host Midway (23-2). The Lady Raiders advanced by defeating North Johnston 59-37 last night. Prior to the most recent re-shuffling of high school districts, Midway and East Bladen were in the same conference.
How about this beautiful weather. High today is expected to be 80, and that is our all-time high for February 21st.
Filing for a local political office has slowed to a snail’s pace. Guess most are happy with status quo and that is not bad if all are pleased with current line-up. Filing deadline for 2018 elections is February 28, a week from tomorrow.
