Happy Birthday to Mr. Carl Lamm, he celebrated his 91st birthday, Wednesday (yesterday). Mr. Carl and his family own WTSB in Smithfield, Four Oaks, Selma. It serves all of Johnston County. At 91 years of age, he still does an afternoon show Monday thru Friday. If you are traveling thru the area it’s on 1090 AM and 105.5 FM. He is still ‘sharp’ and carries on a conversation with anyone who comes his way and plays music. Actually, I was invited up a year or so ago, maybe longer, to just ‘talk radio’. A huge Yankee fan over the years, Mr. Carl has numerous interviews he recorded with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Casey Stengel and others, over the years. He enjoys what he does.
Wonder what Billy Graham would think about the big-to-do about his passing? Like millions more, he has always been one of my heroes.
