UNC Pembroke men’s basketball team defeated Clayton State 70-60 yesterday to claim their second-straight Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship. The Braves (26-5) become just the second team to win both the regular season and tournament crowns in consecutive seasons. Number 3 UNC Pembroke will play No. 6 Francis Marion (20-9) Saturday, March 10, at Harrogate, TN in the first round of NCAA II Southeast Regional tournament action.
