Thoughts While ShavingEast Bladen’s annual fundraiser, steak dinner and reverse raffle, is set for Saturday, March 17th, at the school.  Tickets are on sale, $100 per couple and available at usual locations.  Call the school for more information.

Blueberry and strawberry growers will be watching weather forecast more closely as blooms begin to ‘spring forth’.  Last year, temps dropped below freezing on more than one occasion, doing harm to the plant and the crop, if memory is correct, ’round mid-March.

A reminder, time change early Sunday morning.  Spring forward so you arrive at church on time.

Very good article in NC State Wolfpacker magazine, about former East Bladen star athlete, Larrell Muchison of Elizabethtown, ‘Fighting for a spot on defense’.  The 6-3, 280 pounder was redshirted past season after 2 great years at Louisburg.  Brother Farrell Murchison is a running back for Winston Salem State University.

And speaking of football players, the Panthers announced they have sign kicker Graham Gano to a new 4 year deal.  He has been their kicker for the past 6 years.

Today’s ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament schedule:
Noon: Florida State vs Louisville
2 PM: Boston College vs NC State
7 PM: Notre Dame vs Virginia Tech
9 PM: Syracuse vs UNC

The championship team will be crowned Saturday, gametime is 8:30 PM.

UNC Pembroke men’s basketball team is seeded third in the Southeast Regional tournament at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.  They will play sixth seed, Francis Marion at 12 noon Saturday.
