Thoughts While ShavingSleet reported at various locations in Bladen County Monday.  Best kind, listed to the ‘ping’ on the window, no evidence on the ground.  Recorded 1/2 inch of rainfall over the past 48 hours at the Hester household, more is needed.

Hopefully, no harm to the berry crops.

Medical delivery service has changed so much, and overall, not sure it’s an improvement.  Bigger not always better.

Maybe texting and driving should be charged as ‘driving while impaired’.

Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) of Cerro Gordo will sponsor a truck in the March 24th NASCAR race at Martinsville, Va. Timothy Peters, of nearby Danville, Va. and a former winner at the track, will be the driver.

East Bladen High School’s annual reverse-raffle fundraiser will be held Saturday evening at the school.  Tickets are $100 per couple, includes steak for two and an opportunity to win cash in the raffle.  Call the school for more info, including tickets.

Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber meets at noontime today.

Looked forward to retirement for years, not exactly what I had in mind, but not bad.

Dates for Bladen We Care Gala and Golf Tournament were recently announced.  Gala will be held at the Venue, White Lake, Friday, April 20, 2018 and the Byron H. Gooden Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Vineyard Golf, White Lake on Thursday, April 26.  Call 910-873-4001, 910-874-2008 or 910-862-8423, ext. 250, or 910-874-4004.  Take you pick.  Tickets to the Gala are $50 each for one person, and $500 per team for the golf match or $125 each.

A politician is someone who follows public opinion and then calls him/herself a leader.

A successful politician is one who rocks the boat and then promises everybody else that there is a storm at sea.

Federal aid to education should begin by teaching arithmetic to Congress.
