UMBC is University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Ryan Odom is in his 2nd year as head coach. He is the son of Dave Odom, former head coach at East Carolina, Wake Forest and South Carolina, and a former assistant coach at Virginia.
Joe Kelly, former deputy sheriff, recently passed away. Joe was a good man, loved by all who knew him.
Tickets for the Bladen We Care Gala are on sale. Tickets are $50 each, in the past tickets were $100 per couple. Took a long time to determine singles enjoyed the ‘fun event’ as well. Bladen We Care Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. Can sign up now at the golf course or by calling 874-4001 or 874-2008. Proceeds from both events benefit numerous individuals ‘falling through the cracks’ in our health care delivery services, as well as numerous other worthy programs in the area, including nursing scholarships at Bladen Community College and UNCP.
A reminder of the annual fundraiser at East Bladen High School today at 6 p.m. A steak dinner for two, and a chance to win the reverse raffle. Proceeds benefit numerous activities at the school. Hope to see you there.
